Sometimes DBS applications are withdrawn.
This can be for a variety of reasons, for example:
- Data provided could be incorrect
- Eligibility reasons
- The Subject, the Registered Body, or the Employer could request the withdrawal
Previously withdrawn applications in Personnel Checks would remain “In Progress”.
Prior advice was to use the DBS Tracking facility to see if an application was withdrawn, this applied for Standard and Enhanced level applications only. There was no ability to confirm withdrawal of Basic level applications.
We have now upgraded our integrations with the DBS to detect when applications of all levels have been withdrawn & display that in Personnel Checks.
When a DBS check is found to have been withdrawn, the Case Activity will be update to a status of Complete, and a Flag will be added to confirm.
This will be in effect for all applications from 11th January 2024, no action is required.
Note: When this is initially launched, any withdrawn checks will automatically complete and be flagged. So you may receive more flags than expected over the first few days.
How to See if a Check is Withdrawn
To see if a DBS Check has been Withdrawn, navigate to the relevant Case, expand the DBS Case Activity, and you will see the tracking data. If the check has Withdrawn it will show here:
As the application will not result in a certificate being issued, there will not be a Certificate Status, or Certificate Number key result for withdrawn applications.
