General Terminology

TermDescription
CaseThe working file that holds the details of a Subject as they go through compliance processes.
Activity TypeThe type of activity – for example – DBS Enhanced, Online ID Verification, Basic Details
Case ActivityAttached to a Case, an object that has a Type (e.g. DBS Enhanced), Started / Completed dates, result data etc.
SubjectAn individual who will be subject to compliance processes, e.g. "Subject Access Rights".
ProcessA pre-defined compliance process which Subjects can be processed through.
RequirementAn Activity Type that is required on a Process.
Case PortalThe portal used by a Subject to provide any information needed for the Case
CycleWhen attached to a Process, A Cycle determines the interval at which subscriptions will create new cases
SubscriptionThe relationship between a Subject and a Cycle, has dates for first/last ran etc.
UserAn individual with access to the system.
RoleA set of permissions attached to a User, for example :
• Agent - somebody responsible for day-to-day compliance processes
• Admin - somebody responsible for administering the users in their customer account
• Payment manager – Someone who can make payments in the awaiting payments tab
• DBS-Verifier – someone who can verify ID documents for a DBS check
Registration PortalThe portal used by a Subject to register on a Process. Often includes payment.

CompleteAll Activity has completed
CancelledThe Case has been cancelled
